Decisions, decisions

Today I met my mom and little sister Rachel at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs to attend a bridal fair. I must say... I was very disappointed with the vendors that were there....but I was able to take a look at the beautiful gardens and wedding location.

 There were flowers EVERYWHERE!

{I love tulips!}

So...let me tell you a little about this place
I originally had a deposit down to get married here this summer
July 30 was the only available Saturday at the time when I called to schedule
(a few days after Brad and I were engaged)
But...I got to thinking....
July 30....Arkansas....HOT!! is $1850 just to get married
so let me ask this
do you think that is too much to pay?
That is only to say "I do"
There are available reception locations here for separate fees but they are too small to accommodate the amount of people I am wanting to invite.
One option is a indoor space that seats 80...really? 80...that isn't going to work.
Here is the other:

For now we have cancelled that date and have not booked anything else yet
I still love this place...but am also open to other venues.
Here is what I was thinking though:

1. The wedding venue is beautiful
2. I do not like the reception venues there
3. You get ready away from the if the weather is bad...well there's a problem
4. I think it is way over priced
5. But you wouldn't need to spend much money decorating the venue

So for now I still don't have a wedding date but that is okay...I am in no rush. Hopefully I will find the perfect place soon though so I can really start planning :)

  1. I don't think you should settle just because it's available and it does seem like a lot of money! I do like the idea of being married outside but I think it's good that you're thinking about what the weather will be like. Can't wait to see more of your research and planning!

  2. I'm from hot springs and know several people who have gotten married there... had NO idea it cost that much! Then again, I know nothing about normal wedding venue prices... haha I didn't know ya'll were thinking of getting married in HS?! Let me know if you have any questions about the area!

  3. I was looking at your pictures of Garvan Gardens (I'm getting married in the chapel next June) but you should try the chapel then a reception at the country club. That's what we are doing.

Thanks for the comment! I love to hear what my readers think, each comment means so much to me! xoxo
