Oooh La La & Motivational Monday

Notice anything different here at Living in the Moment?
If you don't remember what my blog looked like before, here is a little reminder
I didn't hate my old blog design but I didn't love it.  I had contemplated getting a new blog design for months. Let's be honest....I used to love the chevron pattern until it seemed to appear on nearly every article of clothing, accessory, and blog and I just needed a fresh start.

This is where Chelsea came in.
Chelsea blogs over at Yours Truly and you can find her design services here. The lovely Chelsea did such an amazing job. Chelsea returned my e-mail immediately and we started later that day. I gave her a color palette and a few suggestions and she took it from there. I definitely felt like I needed an updated look and  I think my current design is so much more "me." It was like I had on a nice dress with the wrong pair of shoes and now I have a sexy pair. Oooh La La! I can't even begin to express the sheer excitement each time I look at my blog now. If you are interested in a new blog design, I definitely recommend her! Check out some of her designs here

There are still a few things on my blog that I am working on but I absolutely LOVE the overall look so far. What do you think???

If you have my old buttons on your page, please get the new ones from my sidebar ------>
out with the old, in with the new :)

Now for my regular Motivational Monday post

Hoooty Hooo

As I mentioned in this post, I have started making and selling wreaths. This started as an idea from my hubby to give me a "hobby" and make a little extra money. I have been overwhelmed with the support I have been receiving from everyone. If you follow me on Instagram or Pinterest, you can keep up with my work. As of right now I am making them per word of mouth (I also ship.) If I get enough people interested I might eventually start an Etsy shop. Here is what I was working on yesterday--- What do you think? Which is your favorite?

If any of you are interested in a wreath, please contact me.
What is a hobby you enjoy? Have you ever taken a hobby and made it into more of a side job?

Motivational Monday

As I was checking out at the grocery store yesterday, the lady  in front of me began looking at all the items I was pulling out of my cart to purchase. She asked me about a particular item that she thought looked good. She said I've never heard of that cereal before, is it good? I continued to tell her how I just loved it. She asked me how much it was, and my reply was "I am not sure." She said to me - You don't know how much the stuff costs that you are buying? That is probably $4 cereal, you must be rich. That comment made me feel about  this big I continued to tell her no, I am not rich... I just always buy the same things. If you really knew me, you would know how much I say how expensive groceries have gotten. Throughout my conversation with this woman, it made me realize some of the things I take for granted...like putting food on the table for my family. I am fortunate enough to not necessarily have to look at the prices at a grocery store for what I need. I know that if I truly need it, I am going to buy it no matter what the price is. When it comes to other purchases, I am all about looking for the best deal. It just makes me appreciate what I do have - because there are people that are not as fortunate.

I am blessed
I am grateful
I am excited
I am thankful
I am happy

Let's Talk Hair

MISIKKO HANA PROFESSIONAL FLAT IRON 1"

Recently I was contacted by Brian from Misikko about reviewing the Hana Professional 1" flat iron.  The timing couldn't have been more perfect because I have been researching which flat iron to try next.

Packaging:

Wow - this was so much more than I expected! How cute was all of this? Not only did I receive the 1" Hana Pro Straight Iron, but many more beauty products to try.

Product Facts & Features:

Straightener:
 Before:

When I want to wear my hair straight, my hair literally takes me 10 minutes including blow drying. Although my hair is naturally pretty straight, I feel like I need a straightener to smooth out some of the frizz. I was amazed at how smooth this product made my hair feel after using it without the need of added products.

 After:

Smooth sexy hair

Curling:

Since my hair is naturally straight, I love to curl my hair but I want to achieve curls fast!

I have only tried this product to curl my hair once and found it was both fast and easy to use. The only thing I would change would be the angled cord at the end of the iron. I found it to sometimes get in my way when trying to create curls.

OVERALL: It's a great flat iron to have! I love that there is adjustable heat so there is not unnecessary damage to your hair. It smooths, seals and straightens with ease. Not only you can use it to straighten your hair, it also creates sexy curls. If you are in the market for a new straightener, I would definitely try out this product.

Getting Crafty

Nothing says fall quite like a little seasonal decor.
I made this wreath on Sunday and I just LOVE how it turned out! My husband has told me for the longest that I needed to find a "hobby" and I think I might have done so... no I don't need more wreaths for myself, but I am going to start making and selling them! I posted this picture on facebook and was overwhelmed with how many people thought I should make more... I received my first order Sunday and finished her wreath on Monday! Motivational Monday - This too shall pass

Do you ever find yourself saying ....

I do.

I have always lived by this motto from Miss Marilyn Monroe

" I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together"

After many recent events in not only my life but in others, it has made me go back to these sayings.

There are so many people in this world with far less than what we have. We all have difficulties in our life. We do not get everything our way. We need to learn to be thankful for what we have and trust that something good will come from a bad situation.

Sometimes bad things happen to good people.

I was in Starbucks Saturday morning and the barista was apparently having a bad day. Sure they are usually the most peppy people around when all you want is your daily cup of joe. As we sat down my mother in law said - usually they are so nice here. I said yes they are, but you never know what is going on in someone else's life. I then went on to talk about Julee's story, which has deeply touched me. I couldn't help but cry....again and again since I have heard. Though Julee is older than me, her & my brother played baseball together every summer - so I have known of her since I was probably 11 years old. She cut my hair a few times while I was in college and everyone that lived in Northwest Arkansas felt like they knew Matt since he was on the nightly news. Like many of you, I have been following her blog for years. I hate that she is having to deal with losing her spouse at such a young age, especially with having a young daughter. I have been overjoyed for her at the generosity I have seen throughout not only the community, but the blog community as well.

If this doesn't make you want to go home and hug your family a little tighter, I don't know what will. Do not take for granted what you have, for you do not know how long it will last.
