Grown Up Wish List

As we grow older, our wish lists begin to change a little bit. Sure I will always want a new outfit, shoes, purse and jewelry.... but if you had to ask me now what is on my wish list the answers would be very different
Currently on my grown up wish list:
  • Larger living room rug
          ...hopefully ordering today :)
  • Extended back patio
....hubs is crossing this one off my list as we speak

  • Outdoor fireplace
...and while we are at it an outdoor kitchen, a TV, and a swimming pool
....I know this isn't happening anytime soon but a girl can have a wish list, right?

  • New living room furniture
  • A large tufted headboard

Motivational Monday

Even if there might be many obstacles in your way, choose to live your life and take a step forward. Your dreams are worth each effort, even if it means failing a few times.
Even if you do not succeed the first time, try again. With enough persistence and determination you can achieve any goal you set for yourself.

Even if no one believes you, believe in yourself.

Even if you can’t see all the finish line, go ahead and take the first step. Each time you make a little progress, you’ll find new ways to make even more.

Even if you want to change something about someone they have to have the desire to change themselves.

Even if your results don't meet your expectations, keep trying to make the effort. Each new day brings you more experience and wisdom to your life.

Even if something holds you back it also compels you to build the strength and determination to move forward.

Even if you’ve been hurt, saddened or disappointed in the past, focus on the positive possibilities in your future. For your future is what you choose to make it, and that decision starts now.

Even if something goes wrong, or when several things go wrong at once, there are still many more things that continue to go right for you.

Much needed break

Oh heeeeeeey Friday!
I never thought you would come. To say this month has been a stressful one would be an understatement. Which is why you haven't seen much action going on here.
 This month I....
  •  Started selling a product I completely obsessed over after trying and yes, the results still look the same!
  •  Spent every day for nearly a week with my great aunt that passed
  •  Welcomed a new cousin, Jackson Cole Davis
  • Watched my brother in law get married
  • Got completely stressed out over my full time job and almost quit
  • Started looking for another job
  • Went to the Dr Wednesday and had a bunch of tests run on my heart and am still waiting on results
My to-do list is never ending. I haven't really been to the grocery store in weeks. Spring cleaning.. that hasn't really happened like I would want it to.
Needless to say I need a break.
Out of everything going on, I am thankful for my new work schedule. Every other week I have 5 days off in a row and today starts day 1 of 5! It couldn't have come at a better time. I have a girls weekend planned that includes lots of pampering! I know that even though things are stressful for me right now it will pass. Plus the glasses of wine and long baths seem to help.
There is no need to feel overwhelmed by the problems that face you. Make the decision to feel positive about your experiences and do your best to successfully work your way through them.

Motivational Monday

Do you ever find yourself in a bad mood because someone else was being negative?
They were having a bad day. They took it out on you. Now your day is completely turned around.

Negativity is a waste of your precious time. You deserve so much better than to spend your time being negative or letting someone else's negativity affect you. Sure it is all around us. Sure we let things bother us. But we can all work a little harder in not letting it get to us.
Don’t fight the negative thoughts. Just accept them, and then quickly let them go.
When negativity begins creeping into your thoughts just visualize yourself taking a hold of it and then dropping it....take a step back and then take a positive step forward.

Worries? They are worthless.
Resentment? Make the situation worse.

Don't let negativity block you from things.
Rise above the petty nonsense and block out the negativity.
Give your focus, time and energy to the good things and people that truly matter.
As I was checking my e-mail this morning I noticed in my daily devotional from Joel Osteen he was also speaking on negativity. I thought I would share. If you do not subscribe to "Today's Word" with him, I definitely recommend it.

"Throughout life, people are constantly sticking labels on us, telling us what we can and cannot become. And sometimes this is good. People speak faith into us. They encourage us. But then, there are times that people put negative labels on us. You cannot stop the negative comments. You can’t prevent the negative labels, but you can choose to remove them.
As a teenager, Walt Disney was told by his art instructor that he wasn’t creative. He didn’t have any imagination. Disney was smart enough to remove that label. He went on to do pretty well. Lucille Ball was told that she didn’t have any acting skills. She should try a different profession. She removed that label. Winston Churchill failed the sixth grade. He was told he wasn’t smart enough. He went on to become one of the greatest Prime Ministers that ever lived. The common denominator in the success of these people is that they chose to remove the negative labels. It’s the same way today. Don’t focus on what others say; focus on what God says. Remove the negative labels and embrace who God created you to be. "

Friday's Letters

...I wish I could say I was back on the beach writing letters in the sand

Dear Readers...By now you have probably forgotten who I am. I'm sorry that I was basically gone from blogging all week. After that emotional roller-coaster of a week last week I needed to relax a little bit.  Dear Work.... Can we please have a little less negativity? Just a little. That is all I'm asking for.  Dear New Baby Cousin.... You are absolutely the most precious little thing. Ever. I could literally hold you all night. Then proceed to hand you back to your mother when you want fed, need changed or start having a fit. Dear Mother in Law.... I know what you are trying to do getting me to go see the baby every day. Be patient please. Dear Spring Cleaning..... You really need to happen soon. I was off to a good start...then boom....um how much is it to hire a good cleaner?? Dear Vacation.... Wait, I just took one. It hasn't been long since I have been back from our 1 year anniversary trip and I already feel like I need another vacation. Dear Brad... Please read the following letters and focus on one right before yours including the vacation. Dear Weather.... Can you please cooperate so we can get to pouring our back patio. Every time we are going to have someone come out you decide to rain. That is all :)

Motivational Monday

Happy Motivational Monday loves.

Sorry for the delay in the time of this post but as some of you already know this past week was an emotional roller coaster. I sat with Brad's great aunt Shirley from Sunday to her death on Thursday. We had a birth in the family the same day of the passing. We had a baby shower and a wedding on Saturday, followed by a funeral on Sunday. While the week was bitter sweet, we have taken much time counting our blessings for those memories spent with Shirley, our new blessing which is a boy - Jackson Cole Davis, and also a new sister in law, Kristen. This morning I went into my kitchen and noticed several dozen red roses from Shirley's funeral. We had an entire casket spray made in her favorite flower - red roses. Each time I see one now I will think of her. Although she didn't have children of her own, she always treated me as I was her own grand child. She was such a blessing in our family. One thing about her is that she was always positive. No matter what - she was always in a good mood. Always had a smile on her face. Always had a joke about something. Even when she got to where she could not walk on her own or remember to take her medicine. It makes you realize that life isn't as bad as we like to believe.

Some of life’s blessings are obvious. Instantly you feel gratefully blessed.
There are many others that, although may not feel like blessings at the time, that eventually bring great value to your life.

It may seem strange to be thankful when difficulties come your way.
Those difficulties and your response to them can end up making you a much stronger person.
It’s easy to be thankful when life is going great, though our gratitude can be even more powerful and appropriate when things are not going so well.

Gratitude is an essential part of causing life’s goodness to come your way.
By being sincerely thankful.
By being thankful, you create even more and better things for which to be thankful for.
Every day is a blessing, whether it seems like it at the time or not.
Be truly thankful and do not take for granted those special people in your life for you do not know what tomorrow might bring.

Highs and Lows

There are many highs and lows in the family at this time.
A death and a birth yesterday.
A wedding rehearsal tonight.
A baby shower and a wedding tomorrow.
....and a funeral on Sunday
Ups and downs, highs and lows, good times and bad times, it’s all part of life.
When times are tough, it’s tough to be positive.
Yet that is your most powerful and effective choice.
It’s tough to be sure of what to do next. What to do without that person. Especially when you see so many people you love hurting.
Yet you can be sure that feeling sorry for yourself will make things even worse.

...then something good happens.

Highs and lows....
We all experience it.
So when these high and low times inevitably come into our lives,
the first thing to do is to just to realize that is part of life.
In all of our lives come moments of difficult challenges.
You WILL have cycles of highs and lows
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s just how it is.
It happens to everyone.
No one is immune to it.
Everyone experiences it, even if they don't show it.
It is important to realize that things happen for a reason.
 Enjoy the highs of life.
Those special moments... just enjoy them.
Appreciate it for all its worth.
and learn from those low moments.
We must remember that we were meant to have joy even if it means getting through difficult times.

A liiiiitle behind but I'll catch you up

I know, I know...
It has been a few weeks since my vacation. I have been a complete slacker at getting a post typed up about it. Things have been a little crazy since we got back. Brad's great aunt is very sick and they had to call in hospice. Brad's brother is getting married this Saturday. Work, work, and more work. Oh and then I decided to start selling this amazing product called It Works

Back to the vacation. Brad and I went to Orange Beach, Alabama to celebrate our 1 year weadding anniversary. His aunt has a condo on the beach and is so sweet to let us go use it. Orange Beach is about an 8 1/2 hour drive from where we live in Arkansas so it really isn't bad at all. I was so ready to go on a vacation - the timing couldn't have been more perfect. The weather on the other hand didn't exactly cooperate with us. You go to the beach to get a tan...not come back from vacation and immediately go to the tanning bed.  Other than that I have no complaints. We had an amazing time together.
If you follow me on Instagram  then you have likely seen many of these pictures. If not get ready for an overload

Prayers Please

I will get back to reading/commenting/blogging more soon but would like to ask for a few prayers please.
This sweet lady right here is Brad's great aunt Shirley. She is one of the sweetest women I have ever met. This picture of us was taken the day before my wedding last year. Since then she has really had a difficult time doing things on her own. Shirley never had children of her own and has treated me like her own since the day I met her. This weekend she started getting really sick and yesterday we had to call in Hospice. I would truly appreciate your prayers for her and Brad's family during this difficult time

Motivational Monday

Making it happen....

The problem with making it happen itself is not what stops you.
What stops you is the assumption that you will not achieve the obstacle ahead of you.
The problem is that you wait for the perfect condition to start.
The reality is that the perfect condition almost never comes.
The things that get done bring achievement.
Things you do not put off.
Things you do not wait for the perfect opportunity to start.
Things you do when whatever it is comes up.

Stop making excuses.
Excuses get you no where in achieving goals.
Focus on the reasons you want to make it happen.
Sure there will always be challenges.
Things you are not comfortable doing.
 Things that scare you.
Sure there will always be certain things you will not be able to achieve.
But you cannot fail until you try.
.....so try

Dear anyone who read my first letter.... Intrigued now? It is a product called It works and I'm telling you, it really works. I believed in it so much I started selling it. No my blog will not be taken over by these posts but hey - a girl has to start somewhere.  Dear Spring... Where the heck are you? It was in the 50s yesterday. Too cold for it being APRIL. Dear Preggo Cousins.... You will both be having precious baby boys within the next week and month! My oh my. I can't wait to hold those little ones.  Dear Preggo Bloggers... Exciting news!

I finally got a new domain name over here at Living in the Moment

Motivational Monday

  Just stop.
Stop stopping yourself, that is.
Start allowing yourself to do the things you want to achieve.
Do the things you enjoy doing.
You will live a more incredible and fulfilled life each and every day.

Stop worrying.
Stop worrying about the little things that do not create a larger problem.
Stop trying to create a problem or focusing on the little things that go wrong.

Open your eyes, your heart and your living experience to things you want.
The positive possibilities will always outweigh the negative problems.
So give your energy, thoughts and actions towards achieving those moments.

Stop holding yourself back.
Remind yourself that YOU are worthy. YOU are capable. You deserve happiness.
After you remind yourself of this - act on it.
Why wouldn't you want to live a more incredible and fulfilled life?
Start now.

Make it happen.
