Thursday Thoughts

I have this never ending to-do / to-buy list in my mind. Two years ago, Brad and I built a home and it seems like there is always something else I am wanting to do to it - even knowing this isn't our "dream home" or we might not even be living there in the next two years. There always seems to be something I am wanting to add or something I already have that I want to get rid of and start new. Then sometimes I fall into this spending freeze when I feel like I don't "need" any of these things. That I need to be happy with what I have. Then the materialistic part of me gets back on the internet and starts ordering more. Sometimes it frustrates me! I know I should be more thankful for the things I am fortunate enough to have, but hey - we work for a reason, right? Dang you materialistic world.

Do any of you ever feel this way?

Tickled Pink

Pink is my go to color.
I absolutely love it.
Packing for my trip last week I noticed that nearly everything I packed was pink.
From nail polish to bathing suits and dresses.
When I got home I purchased 2 new MAC lipstick shades and I am in love
MAC - Pink Nouveau and MAC - Candy Yum Yum

What are your favorite pink lipstick colors?

Motivational Monday

Life is precious. You only have one life to live - so how will you choose to live it?
The quality of your life is determined by your thoughts and your actions.
If you take life each day with worry, doubt, or disappointment - your life will be filled with frustration.  If you do things daily to barely get by - you will do just that.
When your thoughts are open and positive, your actions follow and in result your life will feel more fulfilled. Your quality of life is not based so much on what you have. Rather, it depends on how you choose to view it and how you choose to live it. Think of every moment as an opportunity. Every day is a chance to be the best person you can be. You are not guaranteed tomorrow, so be the best possible version of you today. Let life happen and savor each moment along the way. As you do what you do, whatever it may be, enjoy the moment you’re in. Whether the day is bright or gloomy, whether your surroundings are comfortable or coarse, there is always something to savor. Rather than worrying too much about what is next, pay more attention to what is going on in this moment.

Attention all MAC lovers

If you know me, you know that I LOVE MAC lipstick.
You will find about 6 lipstick shades and 4 lipglass in my purse.
 The hues are amazing
The finish is silky smooth
and the color lasts.
In my opinion, you get what you pay for.
However, if you are on a tight budget, here is a list of comparable colors.

Motivational Monday

Life is often stressful and can throw us many curve balls.
There are often things we can not control.
There are things that build up... and over time just make you reach your limit.
That moment where you just explode.
That moment where have had enough.
That moment when you need a break.

Whatever anxiety you may have, let it go. You will get through this day. There will be joys and there will be difficulties. There will be pleasures and there will be challenges.
Each day won't be perfect, but you can make the most of it.
When you need a moment away from all the stresses and anxiety, take it.

Take time to yourself, relax and do the things that make you happy.

Hello + Happy Friday
I'm so looking forward to a relaxing weekend and I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than a trip to the beach!

The sun, the sand, and a drink in my hand
This was a spur of the moment trip that was planned but it couldn't have come at a better time. Sometimes you just need a break. Time away from work. Time to yourself. Time with your loved ones. Time to relax. Time to just enjoy life. Of course if I had more than a 5 day notice that we were going to the beach I would be ordering several new dresses, and all things monogrammed. I would also make sure my new Marley Lilly order would arrive on time but it looks like it won't get here until next week. Dang... that floppy beach hat and monogrammed tumbler would have been perfect for this trip.
Regardless, I cannot wait to soak up the sun and enjoy some much needed time off.
Have a great weekend!

Motivational Monday

Have you ever went through something and just knew that there is no way that something good can come out of this? That is usually how God works. He takes your mess and creates a message. He gives you a test and creates a testimony. He can take your trial and turn it into a triumph. He can make you into a victor from being a victim.

There are many times when bad things happen to good people.
We can’t explain it but God has a plan.
Even when we feel there is no way out, God knows the way if we just trust in him.
Are you ready to see your life change even when things don’t look like they can?

There is something you’ve always wanted to do. There is some desire that you’ve always told yourself you would someday achieve. Well, why not today? Today is the perfect day for you to begin. Of all the days you have available to choose from, today will give you the earliest start.

There are so many ways you can talk yourself out of taking action.
But  there is just one way to truly move forward.

It is easy to find ourselves over analyzing a situation. Thinking about things so often that we begin to second-guess ourselves so much and never get anything done.

You can find plenty of ways to justify your procrastination.
....Even if it’s perfectly reasonable and understandable, it’s still procrastination.

The secret to moving forward is not difficult.
The secret to moving forward is to stop thinking about why you shouldn't and get up and do it.

As soon as you make the commitment to move forward, every moment will bring you closer to your goal.

Marriage is one of the greatest things you can share with someone.
As I sit back and think about my first year of marriage I can honestly say it has been wonderful. You hear many things about marriage.... Most people have the impression that everything changes when you get married. This is only the case if you let it. Brad and I lived together for several years before getting married. We took this time to adjust to how things would be as husband and wife. While many people are against this, I believe that doing so will allow you to figure things out before saying I DO. So many people think that if it doesn't work out there is always divorce. I am strongly against that. You must think about WHY you married that person. WHY you fell in love with them. WHY it is worth working out. There are times that I still can't believe I'm a Mrs. I still can't believe I have a new last name. While it takes a little while to get fully adjusted to writing your new last name on everything, and switching everything over (which I still have not done) It begins to seem normal. Your new name is fitting. It seems as though that is what your name has always been. Marriage is a huge commitment and the commitment between each other is incredible. I always know I have someone to count on and be there for me whenever I need. I have someone to share my life with. Through the good times and the bad times, he is there with me along the way. He is there to comfort me, take care of me, stand beside me. Naturally when you are married everyone begins to ask you when you will have children. I absolutely adore children. Always have. I do want children of my own and I know Brad does too but every time I try to bring up that sweet little subject with him he tries to change the subject. I am 25 years old. In the south that is getting "old" when it comes to having a baby. Every time I pull up my Instagram or Facebook it is always pictures of my friends children or people finding out they are pregnant. Each time I look at blogger there is someones weekly bumpdate {which I love to read about and see your progress} Sure I get excited for everyone. Sure I love seeing all of these posts and pictures. But a little piece of me wants that too. I told Brad that I want to have my first by 27. I think that is a good age. We have been together for 6 years now. We have had "our time." Maybe not as much as being a married couple, but 6 years with someone is a good amount of time to have to yourselves.  Brad has two cousins that just had baby boys a month a part so I am able to get my baby fix when I want then hand them back to their mommas. Now if I could not get him to freak out when I bring up having a little one.

Motivational Monday

Over thinking often leads to negative thoughts. One negative thought leads to another...and another...and before you know it you are letting those negative thoughts get in the way of doing things. If you have moments like those, I want to encourage you to not let those negative thoughts take over your life.
 Do you have negative thoughts?...
You are always fearing the worst
You focus on the negative part of a situation
You talk down upon the negative things about a person rather than the positive
You're cautious about everything because of what might happen
You're suspicious about things

Do you find yourself thinking...

I can’t do it
It will never get better
I want to but...
I can’t trust ___
I'm not going to do this for ___ because they did ____ to me
One day I'll...
It's too late
I'm not good enough

Eliminating those thoughts...

Doing good for someone else
Accepting the past
Surrounding yourself with positive people
Striving to achieve realistic goals
I hope you all have a positive week and choose to replace those negative thoughts you might have with a positive thought.
