He is Risen

“…He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen…”
(Matthew 28:6)

We have a reason to celebrate today.
We absolutely could not be more grateful for this holiday.
It’s the foundation of our faith.
On Christmas Jesus was born....But everyone’s got a birthday.....
On Easter Jesus died and was risen from the dead.
 He died for us.
For you.
Because of our sin there’s no way for us to be reconciled to God without Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection.
God willingly sent his son to die in our place instead.

Easter is....

Hope. Renewal. Strength. Compassion.

Because of Him, I have an eternal family.

Because of Him, I get to feel joy in my life each day.

Because of Him, I get to celebrate holidays, and create righteous traditions with my family- even if some of them may be a little silly.

It's Easter! We get the chance to go to church and serve Him.
I'm humbled to know how strongly our Heavenly Father loves us.
I'm honored to be part of this plan.
Let us remember the true meaning behind the holiday today.
He is risen, He is alive, and He is faithful to His Word. Trust Him today and let His resurrection power your life!

Happy Easter from my home to yours!

Friday's Letters

Dear Spring.... Where are you? This time last year you were bringing gorgeous weather, beautiful flowers and many days spent soaking up some good ol' vitamin d. Dear Vacation... Even though you were a little chilly to be at the beach I had an amazing time celebrating our first wedding anniversary Dear not so Tan body of mine....so glad I didn't get you on my trip to the beach and had a date with the tanning bed the day I got back. Not exactly what I had in mind. Dear Good Friday..... I am thankful for this day and what it stands for. Although it's not so much a "good Friday" when you are stuck at work and it's raining and everyone else is enjoying the day off. Dear Weekend.... Unfortunately I have to work Saturday as well....however, I will be in good company afterwords for Easter. Dear Easter Candy .....You are very good but do very bad things after I eat you. I seriously couldn't say no to that Cadbury Egg that was held in my face yesterday by a co-worker for me to eat. Shame on you and shame on me for not saying no.

Travel Attire

 Hello Loves.

Unfortunately I didn't have a post of my own planned for today
but I have a great excuse since I am laying beach side in sunny Alabama
While I am spending another day on the beach the lovely Manda (who is also laying beach side) put together this great post for you all. She is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of "meeting" through this lil ol' blog world. Her positive messages, weight loss journey and outfit posts are definitely inspiring and she always has the right thing to say when you need a little pick me up.
If you haven't met her or checked out her blog yet please stop by and say hi.
Also check out her Instagram for more motivational posts and outfit inspiration

Without furthur ado here she is....

Hello Amber's readers! My name's Manda and I blog over at Adventures of Manda and Mr. Howie. It's so nice to "meet" you! Amber and I met via Instagram and then started reading each others blogs. Can I just tell you...I love Miss Amber! She's so funny, sweet, and has some amazing style! Amber and I blog about a lot the same stuff, but it's amazing to see different (but mostly often times how similar) our ideas are about things!

It looks like Amber and I serendipitously scheduled our vacations at the same time! She did me the honor of asking me to create a guest post! So here I am! She also did an amazing post for me! It's a pretty great packing list! So go check it out if you have time.

I know Amber and I have both be day dreaming about our vacation for weeks, if not months by now. Although I'm betting that Amber hasn't been planing her outfits since like...January. Yes I'm one of those people! I'm OCD to a fault in some cases and packing for vacations is one of them.

First I rummaged through my closet and then I did online window shopping for some great new pieces. Between the two, I created some great outfits in my head. To see how they may really work, I used the lovely site Polyvore. Here are some of the favorites of the creations I came up with.

Travel Wear

Grey, Lavendar, & Mint

Mint Weekend Love

Vacation- White Short Ideas

I did my best to recreate these looks with what I have and what I could get on the cheap. We're going to be in Central Florida for most of our trip and even though it's supposed to be warmer than here in the Midwest, I'm used Florida in May. So I made sure to pack some fun layers like cardigans, colorful jeans, and scarves for the cool mornings and nights. I tend to over back though. So I'm sure I'll have way more than I need.

What's your vacation style? Is it similar to your everyday? Or do you take vacation as a chance to have fun with your looks?

Hope everyone's having a great week! I'm gonna get back to the pool!
xoxo-Manda
